Happy New Year! And Heather Requested an Update

With the All Moments Remembered site going up, and all the message board chats, trying to get some "me" scrapping done, and just the holidays in general...it has been one crazy few days. But....things are good. Heres a Christmas Card I made for my dh. Just a little something simple, but I totally dig grungeboard. Got it at All Moments Remembered.

The last few days have been very cold for this part of California, we had a lot of rain Thursday and SNOW on Friday...yep, you heard me...we had snow...it really isn't unusual for this elevation to get snow in Northern Ca., we just usually don't get it this early in the year, but just a couple of days after Christmas so I'm counting it....my morning Friday...it was cold and blustery all day.

Saturday was just cold and rainy allllllll day, and Sunday was just nasty. It didn't snow, didn't rain, but there was fog and mist and just a really damp yuk day, and again I was stuck inside. Funny, I've had like 11 days off and have not been on my dirtbike once. It is too cold in the mornings, Ron is working and I don't have any one else to ride with, or the weather is bad and do not like riding in the rain....everything gets wet, especially me....lol.

And these babies....are just sitting....doing nothing.....

and me doing chores...like getting wood...now where did my husband go...darn him, he always disappears when it's chore time...lol....jk actually, I just got busted sitting on the wood pile catching some sun on my face. I haven't seen enough sun lately.

But here is this morning...beautiful glorious sunshine. A lot of frozen stuff on the ground and slipping and sliding a little on the roads, but gloriously beautiful sunshine...I love it.

So, waz up!!!! Hmmmmm, been chatting on the mb over at All Moments Remembered. Stacey had quite a few RAKS go out the night of the opening...Lots of fun stuff and games were going on. There is an unofficial online crop tonight so stop by and see if you want to participate. Heather, Anne Marie, myself, and Tracey all had fun with a lot of the new girls. We had quite a few new members join up for the grand reopening...and I expect over the next few weeks we will get quite a few more. I hope you all will stop by and share the fun.

In the next few weeks AMR is going to have all kinds of new things happening, challenges, a chat night, all kinds of stuff...remember even if we don't have anything going on, come by and chat... I met a lot of great people the other night that I haven't met before so that was a lot of fun. Plus...the first kit comes out on Feb 1st...can't wait for that...I will post a couple of sneek teasers for you in a week or so. The DT girls for AMR, myself, Heather and Tracey are all working away on what will be some beautiful goodies using the first kit.

Not much else going on...I'm off to Yoga and weights, a little blogging and a safe and "boring" but good New Year's Eve at home.

I wish you all a beautiful, safe and fun New Years Eve, and a successful, scrappy wonderfully happy 2008...Love and Hugs friends
OK Heather wanted me to update my blog and show you how my three furbabies spend a cold day.

WOW....life as a dog in my house is the pits....lol....Hugs

WOO HOOOOOOOOO!

So, to quote the kid in the last scene of "The Incredibles," THIS IS TOTALLY WICKED!!!! So, if y'all have not been over to the new All Moments Remembered site, you need to. Like all new websites, there are some glitches happening, but it will all get worked out and things will get together soon. Despite a few glitches, there's a lot of fun going on too, RAKS, contests, they're also looking for suggestions from you, the customer and f riend. Along with the fun, there are some pretty cool online classes being posted, and a lot of people just registering and getting going on this new site. It's fun...oh year...... the new design team has been announced and I'M ON IT! Whew. I am too stoked and yeah, this is totally wicked. I'm happy feet dancing right now....

It's been a busy month for most of us, I have lots to post and so will try to do it a little at a time rather than inundate the post with too much. The DT spot is the big thing.... I am loving that. This is my first one and I really look forward to the challenge. The competition was tough and all of the finalist were awesome...I'm happy to have this opportunity.

Here's a quick share of a couple of things...I did this lo and framed it in a black shadowbox frame for Allison (owned by Albert...Abbie's on line bf):

and this is what Abbie got from Albert Allison and Abigail:

There's also another "Einstein" shirt that they sent but I haven't gotten a pic of her in it yet.

OK I will post again in the next day or two...just wanted to let you know the news, have you visit AMR....and share a little

Hope you are having a great day.

Just a quick share

You all remember when my friend lost her puppy, Stella, and I did her a really nice albumn with pics of Stella? Well, she is an artist and this is what she gave me for Christmas....

Isn't that just a beautiful pencil sketch? She took it from this pic of Abbie on a lo I have in my office. ThisWhen she gave it to me, with a huge hug, she told me that after all the wonderful work and the beautiful gift of the book that I had given her, she really wanted to do something for me that would touch my heart. She almost cried, and I did. Amazing. I just wanted to share.....

Excitement and a Lo.

I have been busy doing Christmassy stuff, and gifts that I couldn't post, will do that next week. In between finalizing everything I did this lo of my oldest dd, Shawna. She's having some challenging life questions goin on in her life right now and it's hard to be mom and sit on the sidelines.....I want to tell her what the right thing to do is....but I can't....besides, why should I think I know what's 'right' for her.

I did bubble stamping with Lagoon paint from Making Memories, Zanzibar pps from 7 gypsies, as well as the gaffer tape, and Queen & Co. Felt Fushion...talk about sticky stuff....lol. Something about the pic just kept making me tilt it. I'd straighten it out, turn around, turn back and wham....it was tilted again....I finally just left it...LOL. I like the way it turned out. Journaling reads: My wish for you is that you find Strength in yourself; Trust in your own beliefs; Hope in your future; and Love along your pathway.

OK Excitement. I'm so stoked because I have made it into the 10 finalist for the new All Moments Remembered Design Team. The other ladies in the group are mega talented and I cannot wait to see the outcome. They will announce the final winners next week on the 27th. They have also invited the finalist along with everyone else to join in on the 27th where Stacey, the owner of All Moments Remembered will be doing Raks, check back at her site for more details.

OK Wish me luck. I really am excited about this.

Not to mention funny words from her youngest. Take a look see and give a great shout out to this girl.

OK..that's the post for Monday. But, for your viewing pleasure...I will leave you with this:
this is my contribution to Cynthia's CJ. It was favorite recipes and Cynthia, please forgive me but my sense of humor go in my way...lol...recipe follows for all those interested:

Christmas Cheers

1 tsp baking soda

1 cup of sugar

1 tsp salt

1 cup of brown sugar

1 tsp lemon juice

4 large eggs1 cup nuts

2 cups of dried fruit

1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink.

Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK, try another cup, just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit, Pick the frigging fruit off floor... Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry loose with a drewscriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who giveshz a sheet. Check the Jose Cuervo now. Shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.

Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Finally, throw the bowl out, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the swishwasher.

CHERRY MISTMAS!

LO and a Tag

I usually scan my los on a totally awesome scanner, but I don't have my home scanner set up right now so these are not the best pics of a lo. I just finished this, it took about 30 mins...just very simple...something that I've been thinking about lately. TFL

The most wonderful time of the year...

Saw this on Rachel's Blog and loved it sooooooo, I thought I would post it here. I am not going to tag anyone because I know we are all so busy right now, but if you want to do it, just post a comment on my blog and let me know you have.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper! I think wrapping paper is so much more fun to work with, plus I like to open wrapping paper myself.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Real tree. I love the smell of pines and cedars and fir trees. We always cut down a large tree usually about 13-14 feet. this year we went small....about 8 I think.

3. When do you put up the tree? I know it sounds lame, but I hate when the trees starts to get dried out prior to Christmas, so we usually wait until 3 weeks before Christmas. Plus, I have to put a fence around the tree every day when I leave because the boys think it's there treat, if ya know what I mean and Abbie likes to pull the ornaments off and run around the house with them.

4. When do you take the tree down? Just a few days after Christmas. I like getting reorganized after the holidays and cleaning up.

5. Do you like eggnog? Yep...especially if it has some kick to it.....brandy or boubon are good. LOLI

6. Favorite gift received as a child? That is a tough one. I do remember one year the only thing I wanted was the uniform, including hat and boots to ride in the competitive shows with the rest of my team on the California Calvary Command and Ride as a member in the drill team and individual equitation for Company B. there it was right under the tree. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I was so proud. Yeah...nerdy too.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, it's about .5 to 1" tall and it is in pewter. It was my father's and I got it when he passed away. It reminds me of him.

No. 8. Hardest person to buy for? My husband...he likes reallllllly expensive things and he has everything.

9. Easiest person to buy for? Me...LOL...I always know what I want...no really, my youngest dd she just wants clothes.

10. Worst Christmas gift ever received? A fruitcake, underwear, socks, a sweatsuit (from my husband after I had just given him a seriously expensive gift....he's better trained now...LOL);

11. Mail or email Christmas card? Mailed...the best kind to me.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? I'm a sap, I like Miracle on 34th Street.

13. When do you start Christmas Shopping? Hmmmmm....when I find something I like I buy it for Christmas.

14. Have you ever recycled/regifted a Christmas present? NO but I've wanted to

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Ham, Au Gratin Potatos, Cranberries, fresh Green beans with Mushrooms or Spinach and Mushrooms, homemade apple pie and pecan pie.

17. Favorite Christmas song? I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, Silent Night, Greensleeves, Jingle Bell Rock, and anything Christmassy that Nat King Cole sang.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Home....definitely.

19. Can you name Santa's reindeer? Probably not....Rudolph, Blitzen (that's me on new years eve) LOL, Donner, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Comet Cupid, Vixen
...is that all of them?

20. Do you have an Angel on top of the tree or a star? A star.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? This is a time that is supposed to be about family and giving and receiving, of love. People make it so commercial, and they get out there fighting over parking spots, being rude in the stores...I hate that. I try to take a few days off before Christmas to do my shopping during the early morning so I miss that.

OK...anyone who wants to post this, just let me know so I can see your comments. Happy Holidays all my beautiful friends.

Scrap Poser

Don't be thinking I'm a SCRAP POSER just because I haven't had any new los to post lately. I just been busy doing some fab scrappy stuff for gifts for friends and family And besides I so need to go shopping, I have never been so low on supplies as I am now... My pps are pathetic.....sob.....this Friday I have to stop by the lss and get some PPs and a few little things for some ME los, which I hope to be able to get done this weekend....I am almost finished with making Christmas Stuff. I must say that I definitely miss posting my los...I miss doing my los, but I have had the most awesome time making gifts which I will get to post after Christmas.

So today went to Stacey's site, and I just get more excited everytime I see it because All Moments Remembered is having an amazing sale. I cannot wait until after Christmas because I am making a list and checking it twice.... Stacey is in the process of restocking her store, bringing in all kinds of new yummilicious goodies that customers have requested. This girl....not kidding you, she really cares that she makes her store as user friendly, fun to visit and well stocked as possible. Go check it out and give Stacey some love. By this time next month, there will be so many new things in the works for Stacey and she deserves it. And don't just stop with one visit, keep going back and check out all the new things she is adding, like Monthly Kits, a gallery, new web design....A DESIGN TEAM...and HAMBLY....I love HAMBLY. She also has Scenic Route coming, Autumn Leaves, Basic Grey....grungeboard, and lots lots more coming. Check her out and tell her I sent you...hey...I'm sucking up....JK...Anyway do give Stacey a shout, let her know anything you'd like to see in her store, she's a really sweet gal and would love your input.

Have a great day everyone.

Happy Busy Scrappy day

It's been a busy and scrappy day around home. Finished Heather's Christmas present which I can't post yet of course, and I am currently working on just a fun one of Abbie. Also got to talk to Heather on the phone again today and that's always fun. We've been emailing each other back and forth all day too because we are BOTH in our scrap haven rooms.

Put up the Christmas tree and lights today, andI will post pics of those sometime this week. Will have to take the pics tonight when everything is lit up.

Took a break, went out and about around the house. Heather has been bugging me to post a pic from my front door, including door frame, so here you go:

It would have been a lot better if Ron had moved his truck so that it was a clear shot, but he didn't and he doesn't even usually park there. Between a 21 foot boat and trailer, the 40 foot fifth wheel, his two trucks and my truck in the driveway, sometimes he just parks wherever.

Also took some pics of my front yard, door frame not included, and back yard. Just a few trees that are hanging around.

And Abbie...this is why it is so hard to scrap sometimes....the girl always wants me to throw her otter, Ozzie.

Now how can you resist that face?

Not much going on, I will be relaxing this evening with the fam. Kaitie is coming down with something and has a fever and aches and pains. Hope it passes by m.orning. Will try to post again in the next couple of days. If you haven't already, make sure to check out the previous post....there's lot of fun, inspiring links to very talented people.

Have a beautiful day

Inspiration is Everywhere you look

Just something on my mind. As I go through blogs everyday and check out what is going on, I am so inspired by scrapbookers and their unique individuality, style and flair. There is so much going on in the scrap world everyday, and seeing all the inspiration out there, well, impossible...but I would like to share these few things from recent blog surfing:

Check out Heather's blog....not only is she the first fabulous design team member for All Moments Remembered, but she is helping Stacey by fielding many of the applications for the Design Team call. Heather has some great los and ideas....she has been working madly and passionately on a fab vacation albumn so check out some of her older posts too.

Make sure you check out the All Moments Remembered online store and Stacey's blog...she is really getting this fantastic store off the ground.

Then check out Ann Marie, who not only tells you to check out Heather's blog, but check out her wonderful idea for a mini albumn of the town where you live. Ann Marie does such gorgeous work too so you might want to look a little in her older posts as well.

Then, Allison. She amazes me with her unique style, her beautiful designs, colors, and pics. No I'm not prejudice just because my dog is her dogs girlfriend either. She truly is an amazing artist. Check out her blog post from the last few days and you will see some really amazing los.

Tim Holtz, the God of Distressing, has the most wonderful tutorials going on right now, along with fab RAKS for posting;

Liz has an RAK going on too, all in the spirit of Christmas. I just love the idea of posting your favorite Christmas traditions. What a great idea for a lo, minibook, whatever.

Check out this incredible artist, Jadadog. Her work is goregous and she is very inspiring. Love when she visits my blog.

and last, but certainly not least, Samantha has put a small slideshow on her blog of her craft show items. Some of them are so gorgeous. Check her out too.

I could go on forever with a list of all the inspiration there is, but you would get bored, and I don't have enough time....check these fab sites out for some inspiration. You'll be glad you did.

Let me leave you with this.....Life is Good! P.S. Visit this link....it will lift you up and bring you such a good feeling.

Stress Management

Great Thought for the Day

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water ?"

Answers called out ranged from 8oz. to 20oz.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it." "If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. "If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance."

"In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. "

"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work/life down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow."

"Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy !" And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

1* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
2* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
3* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
4* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.
5* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
7 * It may be tha t your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
8 * Never buy a car you can't push.
9* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
10* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
11* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.
13* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
14* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
15* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
16* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
17* We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all live in the same box.
18* A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today ! ! !

Is it Monday again??????

Boy, today has just been a comedy of errors for me....so far...I'm hoping it's gonna get better, LOL. OK so this morning, I get up at 430 a.m. (yep, 5 days a week), I make coffee, make lunches and then I sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee for about 10 mins. It's the only coffee I ever drink so I do like to take a little time. So, as I'm putting the sugar into Ron's cup, I guess I was sleeping, and I ended up spooning the sugar and then pouring it on top of Abbie's head.....hehehehe, I promise, that dog did not mind the sugar rush. Then, I'm drinking my coffee, Abbie starts nudging my elbow and yep, ALMOST had coffee everywhere....so then I'm outta the shower, dried off and putting body lotion on and put my hand too close to the pump, ooooooppppps, I got the lotion on just about every wall around and none on my hand.....get to work and first thing I do....drop my makeup bag everywhere....Man...it's gotta improve, ya think. LOL.

OK anyway, not much to post...I have been very busy at work, very busy making and buying Christmas gifts and I haven't had my camera out in several days, which is very unlike me, but I didn't want y'all to think that I had been abducted by aliens like Allison. Besides, they would spit me out and throw me back...hehehe. I'm just too darn onery.

I will seriously try to post before working on my Christmas gift for Heather tonight. OK ladies, off to work.....oh happy, happy, joy, joy....Love and hugs my friends.
